Description
Finished up the charcoal drawing of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes.
It's for ~L0UDN0ISES
Took a few hours, two and a half in total perhaps? Still learning charcoal so there are things I need to do better, I know.
BBC Sherlock was created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat and was based on the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

You have gotten off to a good start! The positioning of the mouth appears to be off-center (situated a little too far to the right). The center dip of his lip will better be aligned with his nostrils then. Remember that nearly everything (it seems) about Benedict is long, including his face and its features! Placing a grid over one of his photos, or drawing facial lines over one and comparing it to your piece may give insight to his proportions. As far as charcoal technique goes, perhaps focus less on covering so much space and smudging a big space all at once and instead work on smaller patches and build outward. It may look smoother in the end. Don't worry about immediate perfection, either; it's all about experimentation.
